To connect and network with one another, WIFI is a necessity. On the Kampnagel campus, we have the Kampnagel_Guest network that you can click into without a username or password at no cost.

Dancers’ bodies need some rest and a good portion of self-care for all the hard, rhythmic work. You can get it at the Pleasure & Pain massage studio.
This oasis of relaxation was created especially for the Biennale; you can find it in a secluded space in the Kampnagel foyer. Two massage therapists are glad to treat any tension or exhaustion in 20-minute sessions.
Pleasure & Pain is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 am to 4:00 pm – book your appointment on location, at the Infotresen or in advance. Massages are in high demand, so if you want to be sure to get those knots out of your muscles, book in advance at tanzbiennale@kampnagel.de. You can also agree with the massage team on appointments that lie outside of the business hours mentioned here.
20 min / 20 € (cash only, ATMs are in the Jarrestraße)
For all other questions or needs, our busy assistants at the Infotresen [information stand] in the Kampnagel foyer are ready and willing to help! Daily, from 12:30 am to 2:00 pm (and on Thursday after the symposium from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm), this information stand will be staffed and can support you with suggestions or assistance. »I’m lost…«, »When is my rehearsal?”« »Where do I get a ticket for the tonight’s show?« are just some of the questions the Infotresen team can answer.
The Infotresen is also the place for the ticket exchange. If, by chance, you won’t be able to make it to one of the FOKUS TANZ shows, you can drop your ticket here (someone else will be happy to have it!). The ticket exchange is also the place to trade tickets as well. The call here is »my ticket for yours« – you hand over your FOKUS TANZ ticket and get a different one in exchange. If the ticket you want is not available, don’t panic! You can still buy tickets at your own cost at the Kampnagel box office in the evenings (assuming they aren’t sold out!). If you want to be 100% on the safe side, buy or reserve your tickets on the Kampnagel website (www.kampnagel.de).
This only applies to the FOKUS TANZ tickets. For the SHORT PIECES (the
presentations by the invited dance schools in the context of the Biennale) that take place every evening as well as the »Fusion Dance Battle«, every participant has a ticket anyway.
In your old-brand-spanking new-pimped-sustainable STATUSBAG , you can find your cosmic Biennale bottle – essential to arrive and survive at the CITY OF DANCES. You can fill it either in the wardrobe, at the water faucets in the K3 kitchen, the WC’s at Kampnagel and the Ballet Centre Hamburg John Neumeier as well as the water dispensers in the catering tent. No worries: the water from the faucets is of the highest quality!
You can get hungry between all the points in the programme. No worries – at the CITY OF DA NCES, food is provided for! Lunch is available from Tuesday to Sunday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm; with one exception on thursday: At the day of the symposium, lunch will be served from 1:00 to 1:30 pm. Dinner will be provided on Monday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm and from Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. The tasty and all vegetarian meals will be put on the tables at the catering tent at the end of the Kampnagel foyer. There is also a water dispenser in the tent; here you can fill your cosmic BIE NNALE bott les. Other drinks can be ordered, at your own cost, at the Peacetanbul Restaurant at Kampnagel.
For all other culinary desires, there are plenty of options to buy other or more meals at your own cost in the area around Kampnagel, for example in the Jarrestrasse or Gertigstrasse: from little cafés to classic Döner, it’s all there (suggestions see above).
Every day, a bus shuttle will travel from the Ballet Centre Hamburg John Neumeier to Kampnagel. All participants of the morning program at the Ballet Centre Hamburg John Neumeier are requested to exit the main entrance on time at 12:30 pm (on Thursday at 10:45 am). Here, assistants will lead you to where the buses depart. The transfer from the Ballet Centre Hamburg John Neumeier to Kampnagel takes about 45 minutes.
On thursday, Feb 20, there will be no bus, but a taxi shuttle at 10:45 am, carrying participants of ballet training to the symposium at Kampnagel.

Shopping – Sightseeing – Nightlife
City center: There are three big inner city shopping areas in Hamburg, with all typical boring inner city stores all within walking distance from the Hauptbahnhof (main station): Mönckebergstraße, Jungfernstieg and Rathausplatz. Nicer districts for shopping, nightlife etc. are: Altona (around Ottenser Hauptstr.), St. Georg (along Lange Reihe), Sternschanze (around Schanzenstr. and Marktstr. with alternative food and clothing stores) and St. Pauli.
If you want to visit the harbour, take the U3 or the S1 or S3 and get off at Landungsbrücken, where you can either take one of several harbour tour ships for tourists, or (by using your normal bus and metro day ticket) take the HVV-ship to the Fischmarkt or to Övelgönne, where you can take a walk along the river.
We hope that you had a nice trip and that you will have a pleasant and successful time here in Hamburg. The following information shall help you to find your way around the Kampnagel area and the city.
